Grinding

The process of squeezing and crushing of the beans releases the coffee oils, which are then more easily extracted during the infusion process with hot water, making the coffee taste richer and smoother.

Tamping removes gaps & air pockets between the coffee grinds, creates a tight seal around the edges of the portafilter, creates a flat for the water to flow through, promoting an even extraction of flavour.

Frothed milk is made by aerating milk, which makes it foamy or frothy. The purpose of frothing the milk is to achieve a certain texture. It adds a creamy, air mouthfeel to your coffee and creates a dense foam.
